Title: Police Appeal for Help to Find Attacker who Knocked Girl Unconscious
Subject: Police is looking for the attacker who knocked out a girl unconscious.
Article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/nov/21/police-attacker-girl-london

Summary
Metropolitan Police want to find the man behind the attack which left a young girl in the hospital. The attack took place outside Black Lion public house in High Street, Plaistow, on 13 November. The teenager was followed from her house to the crime scene, she was attacked from behind with no warning. The suspect delivered a great punch on the back of the girls head, the girl fell in a unfortunate way on the pavement with her face hitting the ground first. She was taken to the hospital by ambulance, before being released with cuts and bruises later that day. A Metropolitan Police said: "This was an unprovoked attack. The victim fell to the ground and was unconscious. After the assault the suspect turned around an jogged back towards Green Gate Street." The suspect looks like a six feet black man of muscular build, with a shaven head an aged between 25 and 30.

Opinion

I hate violence, I really feel sorry for that poor girl. Actually she was really lucky that she came out of it with only a couple of cuts and bruises. It could have been a lot worse for example; to become physically handicapped. Though she has a big scarf on her life now and will be afraid to go out of her house and walk on the street. I really do not understand why somebody wants to hurt another person. I think it is very sad that a person has these urges and practice those urges. I am glad the Metropolitan Police is taking this case serious and I hope they will find this horrible person.

Baby boy dies after being bitten by dog

title: Baby Boy Dies After Being Bitten by Dog
subject: Baby has been bitten by a dog and died of it.
article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2012/nov/21/baby-boy-dies-bitten-dog

Summary

The police of West Mercia (WM) confirmed that the baby boy who died was bitten by a dog. The baby died in the hospital on Tuesday morning after paramedics were called to an address in Telfort, Shrospshire.
The Police of WM are investigating the exact outcome of circumstances of the death of the baby boy.  The spokesman of the police said: "As in all cases of the death of a young child, West Mercia Police has launched an investigation to establish the exact circumstances." There was a dog involved in the incident, it appeared to be the family pet. The pet has been put down because of the death of the baby boy.

My opinion
I believe that no animal attacks out of no where, maybe to strangers but not to his own pack (family). Dogs see the family they live in as their pack. I guess there is something more up to this than a dog who attacked this baby boy. The one question that keeps spinning around in my head is: How did the parents let this happen to their little son? Everybody knows you should not leave your children alone with your pet. Though I do agree with putting a dog down who has bitten a person, because not all the dogs are friendly and look up to people. So this dog had to be put down, still I think the police should look further than just a dog who has bitten. Maybe the dog has been abused ass well or the baby boy was pulling his ear and after twenty times the dog lost his temper. So I really think they should look at the dog too and question the owners whether they have been good owners.

Title: Hunt for 'Facebook rapists' before they can strike again
Subject: Police in London are hunting 50 repeat rapists, networking via Facebook.
Newspaper: London Evening Standard
Article written by: Justin Davenport (crime editor)

Summary
The police in London is hunting about fifty repeat  rapists. The rapists operate by using social media to get in contact with vulnerable women. They are also working illegal as minicab drivers to target their victims or going to clubs to overload their victims with drugs and alcohol . Detective Mick Duthie says a hard core of suspects are evading arrest because victims are to embarrassed to admit they have met their attackers on social media but there is also a lack of evidence to solve the cases. Last year there were 5,070 rapes in London, only 742 cases were solved. Mr. Duthie said police also plan to use licensing laws to shut pubs and clubs associated with high levels of rape and sex assaults.

Opinion
I think it is horrible that men take advantage of vulnerable women, but on the other hand those women are looking for trouble by using social networking websites to meet men. Everybody knows there are risks when you meet people on the internet. I also think they should help harmed women to speak up, because they are embarrassed they will not speak up their minds. The police needs those women to speak up in order to solve the rape cases. I think they should approach it like that, not by closing clubs. But I do agree with the licensing laws to shut pubs and clubs, which are associated with high levels of rape and sex assaults. Cause club or pub owners who let those things happen in their own pub or club, are as bad as the rapers themselves.

Title: Gay students feel excluded by 'homophobia' around sport'
Subject: homophobia leads to no participation in sports at Universities.
Newspaper: Arts London News
Article is written by: Billy-Jade Thomas

Summary

Two thirds of gay students feel excluded from taking part in sport at university, according to a new report issued by the National Union of Students. There were 845 Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students interviewed for the out in Sport Survey, one in seven named homophobia as their main reason for not participating in sports at Universities. Only a third of the LGBT do participate in the sports. Most of them hide their sexuality from their teammates. The homophobia issue should be tackled at schools. NUS once did a report about homophobia in sports. This campaign has been backed by gay sport stars, as a result teams, staff and sport facilities are LGBT-friendly. The report also encourages schools to teach LGBT inclusiveness in sports.

My opinion
In my opinion nobody should not feel out of place. There is no reason for people to shut other people out based on religion, sex, rase or other weird reasons. We are all people, we all stand for something that makes us unique. I was shocked by the numbers in this article, I thought this was not happening anymore these days. I think it is a good thing that NUS wants to tackle the homophobia in sports by writing articles, so the LGBT students can relate to this article, it shows them their are not alone. But also on the other side make people aware this is still going on in sports, like me for instance I really did not know this was going on. I love the fact that the NUS report encourages schools to teach LGBT inclusiveness in sports.
