Title: coupling
Season: one
Episode: one
Source: BBC2
The episode begins with two couples that
are breaking up with each other. Steve has an “unflushable” girlfriend
according to his best friend Jeff. Steve’s girlfriend does not want to break up
with Steve; she simply does not allow it. She tricks him with sex, so he will
stay with her. The other couple who is breaking up are Patrick and Susan, this
goes a lot better in comparison with the other couple. Though Patrick did not
expect the cool, male reaction of Susan.
Then Susan and Steve meet each other in the ladies room, Steve was there
because he was having sex with is unflushable girlfriend. Susan and Steve like
each other, so Steve calls Susan to have a date. On the date his unflushable girlfriend
walks in, but it is no problem because Susan has a facial so she will be there
an hour later. While Steve is trying to end the relationship Susan walks in.
The unflushable girlfriend and Susan meet, the unflushable girlfriend suddenly
breaks up with Steve. Everybody is in the restaurant at that moment and will have
dinner together.
My opinion
The series coupling is really funny; it has
the British humour written all over the episode. The characters can react
unpredictable, this I think, is because you know the situation and you watch
the program like you are in that situation and you would react in a totally
different way than the character does, I guess this makes it unpredictable. The
complexities of the relationships with all the characters are hilarious. I like
the fact that some things are back to basic; you can find yourself in the same
circumstances and because of that you recognize a lot of situations of your own
life. This series are really fun to watch during a break from studying or after
a long day of hard work, you can just relax and enjoy yourself.
I agree with Maud that this show is very funny. It is mostly about humor with a little drama in it. I haved watched this show myself and have seen all the episode. It is a bit like the American tv show called "Friends".
